JPJ Denies Issuing ‘EE’ Registration Series, Lodges Police Report

Kuala lumpur: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has denied issuing or using the vehicle registration index series 'EE' as circulated on social media.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPJ's director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli stated that the department has never issued, introduced, or approved the 'EE' vehicle registration index series. He emphasized that the approval letter circulating on social media is fake and constitutes a form of fraud that has the potential to confuse and deceive the public.

Aedy Fadly explained that preliminary investigations revealed that irresponsible parties unlawfully used the format and identity of official JPJ correspondence, including letterheads, writing style, and layout that resemble authentic department documents. This misuse has caused public confusion and undermined the department's credibility.

In response to these actions, JPJ has lodged a police report to facilitate further investigations into the matter. The department urged the public to remain vigilant and not be easily deceived by offers or information related to dubious vehicle registration numbers. They advised verifying through official channels to avoid falling victim to fraud.
