Bangi: A total of 10,000 visitors are expected to enliven the Jom Masuk U 2025 Carnival (JMU) Central Zone 2 to be held at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on May 10 and 11.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, UKM stated that various activities, such as study programme exhibitions by higher education institutions, consultations, and advisory services related to suitable educational pathways based on individual qualifications and interests, will be held throughout the carnival. Briefings on the techniques for filling out the UPUOnline system and information on sponsorship opportunities and financial assistance for furthering studies, as well as motivational sessions and sharing by renowned community figures, will also be conducted.
UKM is inviting students, parents, families, and the public to attend in large numbers to explore and seek opportunities to further their education at 66 public and private higher education institutions, government agencies, and statutory bodies. The statement also mentioned that UKM will launch the UKM Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) Centre at the carnival.
APEL is described as a systematic process involving the identification, documentation, and assessment of prior experiential learning. UKM’s statement highlighted that it serves as a form of recognition for the experience and expertise of individuals who have been in the workforce. Through APEL, the public has the opportunity to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degrees using their respective work experiences.
