Johor bahru: The people of Johor need leaders and elected representatives who are wise in assessing priorities, have the courage to make decisions, and truly understand the pulse of the people, said Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He emphasized the coalition's commitment to carrying the people's voice, defending the state's interests, and driving Johor towards greater development and prosperity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar released a video clip on his official Facebook page, where he stated, "Johor Progresses. Vote HARAPAN," in conjunction with the 16th Johor state election. The Prime Minister urged the PH machinery to work diligently to ensure the party's candidates' victory in the upcoming polls. He emphasized the need for elected representatives and leaders who represent the interests of all people in Johor, including Malays, Chinese, and Indians, to collectively build and elevate the state.
Anwar commenced PH's first day of campaigning in Johor by participating in seven programs across various areas to connect with the people and support the coalition's candidates. These initiatives included meetings, talks, social events, and community programs aimed at strengthening voter support for PH ahead of the polling day.
In the current polls, PH has fielded candidates in all 56 state constituencies, comprising 20 PKR candidates, 19 Amanah candidates, and 17 from DAP. Overall, the Johor polls feature a total of 172 candidates vying for the 56 state seats. Polling day is scheduled for July 11, with early voting set for July 7.
