Johor To Highlight Healthcare Staff Shortage In Upcoming Meeting With MOH

Johor bahru: The Johor government will raise the issue of a shortage of healthcare workers at three major hospitals in the state during an official meeting with the Ministry of Health (MOH) next Friday. State Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon announced that Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Sultan Ismail Hospital, and Pasir Gudang Hospital are all experiencing manpower shortages, affecting operations and increasing the workload on current staff.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ling Tian Soon emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “We take seriously the burden borne by healthcare workers, and it is time for the MOH to give the matter due attention. We will present full data next Friday and push for an immediate solution.” He conveyed this message in a Facebook post, highlighting the urgency of addressing the staffing issues.

A virtual meeting was held yesterday to plan follow-up actions. The meeting involved key personnel, including State Health Department director Dr. Mohtar Pungut, Sultanah Aminah Hospital director Dr. Mohamad Nizam Subahir, Sultan Ismail Hospital director Dr. Zuraini Zainal, and Pasir Gudang Hospital director Dr. Suhaila Abu Hassan, as well as several senior officers. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that the matter receives the necessary attention from the Ministry of Health.
