Kuala lumpur: Titiwangsa MP Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani announced plans to meet with Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa to address the status of the Flat Seri Perlis 2 development in Taman Datuk Keramat.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting will also include Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud. Johari, who serves as the Minister of Plantation and Commodities, stressed the importance of ensuring that any proposed redevelopment of the public housing considers the welfare and needs of the local residents.
Residents have expressed concerns after hearing rumors about potential relocation and interest from developers in redeveloping the area, Johari mentioned during the Santuni MADANI programme organized by the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) at the flats. He clarified that, as of now, the status of the public housing remains unchanged, with no specific redevelopment proposals submitted by any developer.
Johari further stated that any redevelopment proposals must involve discussions with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the relevant ministries, and the elected representative of the area to ensure comprehensive planning and consideration for the residents.
Regarding the Santuni MADANI programme, Johari explained that the initiative is designed to bring leaders closer to the people, allowing them to understand residents' concerns firsthand and deliver government services effectively to local communities. During the event, more than 300 heads of households from the asnaf group received food baskets containing daily necessities.
