Tampin: The Public Works Department (JKR) of Tampin in Negeri Sembilan has taken immediate steps to address the safety issue of road users on the Flyover heading towards Taman Sungai Gemas, KTMB Quarters, Taman Gemas Indah, and Gemas Golf Resort. Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi stated his commitment to resolving emerging issues involving road users promptly.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nanta congratulated JKR Tampin for successfully resolving this issue after it was discussed in the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN) in November. He emphasized that driver safety is a collective responsibility, particularly for agencies under the ministry. Nanta conveyed his remarks through a Facebook post, highlighting the importance of swift action in ensuring road safety.
Nanta also expressed his appreciation to Gemas assemblyman Ridzuan Ahmad for bringing attention to JKR Tampin’s efforts regarding the installation of water barriers and blinker lights in areas with low-lying roads to enhance the safety of residents at night. Ridzuan, who is also a Perikatan Nasional (PN) assemblyman, acknowledged JKR Tampin’s awareness of the road issue on the flyover through his Facebook post and expressed hope for further resolutions.
“We hope the problem of road subsidence, street lighting, and landscaping (tree trimming) on the road shoulders can be resolved within three months,” Ridzuan stated, emphasizing the need for continued attention to road safety and infrastructure improvements.
