Labuan: The Labuan Public Works Department (JKR) has done the Federal Territory proud by clinching third place in the Best State Public Works Management Innovation Award at the 2025 Public Works Department Senior Officers’ Conference (SOC).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the annual three-day conference, held from July 14 to 16 in Terengganu, was officiated by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi and attended by over 400 senior JKR officers, including top management, district engineers, and technical experts from across the country.

The SOC serves as a strategic platform to strengthen professionalism and enhance service delivery within the department through sustainable and holistic practices.

JKR Malaysia director-general, Datuk Wira Ir. Roslan Ismail, presented the award to JKR Labuan representatives Ir. Ts. Hatiyah Jenawi and Haslina Salim.

The achievement reflects the department’s strong internal collaboration and effective management, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality services for the people.

JKR Selangor emerged as the overall winner, followed by JKR Terengganu in second place.
