Subang Jaya: A firefighter experienced dehydration on the first day of operations to combat a gas pipeline fire at Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, as reported by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the assistant director, Khairul Azuwan Ibrahim, highlighted the challenges faced by JBPM personnel, including intense heat from the fire, the extensive area affected, and the need to evacuate numerous victims. The site inspection revealed extremely high temperatures close to the fire, which led to the firefighter suffering from dehydration and a drop in oxygen levels.
The firefighter, who is part of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Fire and Rescue Station, received treatment for 20 minutes. This allowed him to recover and continue his duties until the fire was brought under control. Initial reports indicated that the flames initially reached over 100 feet (30 meters) high, with temperatures escalating to 1,000 degrees Celsius.
