Klang: Community leader and businessman Tan Sri Jason Goh has been appointed president of the Selangor Justices of the Peace Council for a two-year term, effective today. The appointment was made by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and Goh succeeds Datuk Ng Seing Liong, who has completed his term.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Goh, a philanthropist and corporate leader, expressed his deep honour at the appointment and conveyed his gratitude to the Sultan for the trust and confidence placed in him. He also expressed his hope to contribute his expertise and experience to strengthen the council, particularly in fostering unity among the people.
Goh highlighted that the Selangor Justices of the Peace Council is a prestigious body that is held in high regard by Commonwealth countries. He emphasized his intention to fulfil his responsibilities with the support of Tuanku and the members of the council.
Goh noted that the council has a strong historical background and has played an active role in local judicial and administrative matters, as well as community and welfare activities.
