Tapah: Alhamdulillah, thank you to the Malaysian people who prayed a lot for Jaslinda."
This was the sentiment shared by Jasima Saludin, 52, regarding her sister Jaslinda, 49, who was found safe near Kampung Lubuk Gaharu, Pos Musoh near Tapah, this afternoon. Jasima, who was contacted by Bernama, mentioned that she and her husband were on their way to Tapah to reunite with her younger sister.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jasima had briefly returned home to Kuala Lumpur to attend to family matters. She recounted receiving calls from friends and seeing the news on social media about Jaslinda being found, prompting her immediate journey to Tapah. Jasima emphasized that her first priority upon meeting Jaslinda would be to assess her sister's condition, expressing relief over the video she saw that suggested Jaslinda was alright.
She conveyed her gratitude towards the Malaysian people for their prayers, as well as the Search and Rescue (SAR) team and everyone involved in the efforts. Earlier, Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Sayani Saidon confirmed that Jaslinda was located by a resident, Nazri Bah Eng, around 3 pm. The process of bringing Jaslinda out is still ongoing, and she will be taken to Tapah Hospital for further treatment.
Jaslinda, along with 13 other individuals and two Forestry Mountain Guides, began the Trans Spencer Chapman trek on May 23 via the Pos Gedung-Gunung Bah Gading-Gunung Batu Putih-Kuala Woh route. She and another climber, Mohd Hanafi Neikmad, 41, faced health issues and paused their ascent. However, Jaslinda, a supply chain executive at a private company, reportedly resumed her trek to the peak and was last seen on May 24.
