Jalan Magazine to Be Closed for 21 Days Due to LRT Mutiara Line Works

Jalan magazine: Jalan Magazine here will be closed for 21 days from Sept 14 to facilitate road widening and utility relocation works for the LRT Mutiara Line project.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) announced that the closure would be in effect around the clock from 10 pm on Sept 14 until 5 am on Oct 5. The closure will involve the leftmost lane of Jalan Magazine in front of St. Giles Wembley Hotel heading towards KOMTAR, while other lanes will remain open to traffic.

A partial lane closure will also be implemented intermittently along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah from 8 am to 4 pm daily from Sept 16 to Dec 15. This is to facilitate construction of the LRT Mutiara Line, including drainage and road widening works. The closure will affect the leftmost lane between the Sunny Point Complex traffic light junction and the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) field heading towards KOMTAR, as well as the rightmost lane in front of the USM field and Batu Uban Army Camp in both directions.

Other lanes will remain open to traffic at all times. Road users are advised to exercise caution when passing through the area. Road signs and traffic cones will be placed, while flagmen will be deployed to help manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of road users at the affected routes.
