J-KOM Launches Nationwide Initiative to Educate Young Voters

Parit Pinang Seribu: The Community Communications Department (J-KOM) is set to play a crucial role in preparing young voters for the upcoming elections. The department aims to educate first-time voters to make informed decisions, thereby avoiding the election of unsuitable leaders that could impact the nation’s political landscape.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, J-KOM’s director-general, Datuk Ismail Yusop, emphasized the department’s commitment to educating voters on the history and formation of the constitution. This approach seeks to prevent young voters from being swayed by harmful agendas in the future.

J-KOM will conduct activities and programs across the nation, emphasizing the importance of the country’s history and constitution. These initiatives include engagement training, forums, courses, and seminars to enhance community understanding. Training modules covering the national system, constitutional monarchy, the Malaysian Constitution, Rukun Negara, and the Malaysia MADANI framework will also be provided.

At a press conference after officiating the Southern Zone’s Ihya Ramadan program at Masjid Sulaimaniah, Datuk Ismail urged parents to collaborate with J-KOM in educating young voters. He highlighted the political uncertainty experienced during the last general election and stressed the importance of young voters understanding the rationale behind their choices.

He cautioned against making decisions based on social media influence or sentiment, emphasizing the responsibility involved in choosing national leaders. Educating young voters about the country’s history is crucial to ensuring that elected leaders bring benefits to the people.
