Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) Sdn Bhd successfully raised over RM8,000 through ticket sales from its Rise and Revive health and wellness programme, which will be channeled to two organisations supporting persons with disabilities (OKU) today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, IWK Corporate Communications Head, Wan Esuriyanti Wan Ahmad, stated that the proceeds were donated to the Ahsana Kuala Lumpur Welfare Association (PKAKL) and the Malaysia Federation of the Deaf (MFD), with each organisation receiving over RM4,000. She highlighted that approximately 60 participants from both organisations joined the public community at the event, comprising 30 participants from PKAKL and another 30 from MFD.
"We wanted a programme that promotes health, well-being, and a positive atmosphere, while simultaneously driving charitable values by donating all ticket proceeds to the two selected NGOs. Best of all, they joined this programme alongside the commun ity, including participants from the deaf association who were assisted by interpreters so they could follow along with the activities," she said during a press conference after the Rise and Revive programme at IWK Eco Park @ Pantai Dalam.
The programme, organised by IWK in collaboration with Prahara Studio, aims to encourage a healthy lifestyle while reinforcing the values of inclusivity, accessibility, and community participation. In line with this, Wan Esuriyanti noted that Rise and Revive is also part of the Sahabat Istimewa IWK (IWK Special Friends) initiative, which focuses on empowering persons with disabilities across various spectrums.
She added that IWK wants to prioritise the OKU community through its corporate social responsibility programmes, as this group is fully capable of contributing to society when given the space and opportunity. "That is why today we can see them dancing, doing yoga, and joining the 'pound' workout alongside the rest of the community," she said.
The event kicked off with a yoga session with Atilia Haron, followed by Flyjam with Mimifly, and Poundfit with Hanis. Meanwhile, Wan Esuriyanti shared that IWK plans to expand the Sahabat Istimewa IWK initiative outside the Klang Valley, collaborating with the company's operational offices nationwide, excluding Sabah and Sarawak. In addition to the workout activities, the programme featured local vendor booths and concluded with a special performance by Atilia Haron and Mimifly.
