Issues Concerning Drains and Garbage Along Jalan Bukit Kemuning Addressed by JKR

Klang: The Public Works Department (JKR) has taken proactive measures to resolve issues related to the condition of drains and the accumulation of domestic waste along Jalan Bukit Kemuning in Klang.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JKR coordinated with the State JKR, Klang JKR offices, and relevant agencies, including the Klang Land District Office, Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), and KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM), to tackle the problem. A video uploaded by Kota Kemuning Assemblyman Preakas Sampunathan on July 8 highlighted the issues, prompting JKR to take action.

JKR reported that the drain maintenance along Jalan Persekutuan FT190 is managed by the concessionaire, Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd. They have also engaged with Preakas to discuss ongoing and future measures to address the situation. Challenges faced include non-compliant access roads built by local premises, contributing to drainage issues, while domestic waste dumping exacerbates garbage accumulation.

The department has allocated RM4.5 million for maintenance and related works on FT190, including partial reconstruction and safety improvements. Road users are advised to stay vigilant, follow signs, and cooperate in maintaining public infrastructure.

Preakas expressed gratitude to JKR via Facebook for their prompt response to the concerns of the Kota Kemuning constituency and general road safety.
