Ipoh Moreh Run 2026 Draws Over 800 Participants

Ipoh: The Ramadan atmosphere in the city was further enlivened with the organisation of the Ipoh Moreh Run 2026, a casual night run that successfully brought together more than 800 participants at Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz @ Padang Polo, starting at 10 pm last night.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, President of The Bulatan Runners Community Running Club, Nazrul Zaim Nazlan, stated that the programme aims to encourage a healthy lifestyle among the community while strengthening social bonds through recreational activities held after the breaking of fast. He noted that organising the run at night in conjunction with the month of Ramadan offers a unique experience for participants, as they get to enjoy a more relaxed and harmonious recreational atmosphere after fulfilling their religious obligations throughout the day.

Nazrul mentioned that this year's Ipoh Moreh Run 2026 marks the second edition of the event, and the organisers plan to make it an annual programme held every Ramadan. The programme was fully organised by The Bulatan Runners Community Running Club, with hopes for it to continue growing as a community event that brings people together through healthy and relaxing recreational activities throughout Ramadan.

The event was launched by Chief Whip of the Ipoh City Council (MBI), Mazlan Abd Rahman, and saw participation from groups such as The Polo Runners, Bagirun Club, Runners Tanpa Sempadan, MAF Runners, Sahabat Senaman Santai, Sri Iskandar Runners and Lari Ke Maya. Mazlan expressed hope that initiatives like the Ipoh Moreh Run would help foster a stronger sense of togetherness among residents of Ipoh, while also promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to the casual run, participants had the opportunity to take part in side activities, including community interaction sessions, a lucky draw, and a moreh meal prepared by the organisers as a symbol of togetherness after the run. Mazlan added that he hopes the Ipoh Moreh Run can continue as an annual event to strengthen community ties and promote a healthy lifestyle among city residents, particularly during the month of Ramadan.
