IOI Properties Sells 50 Hectares Of Industrial Land In Banting For RM740.68 Mln

Banting: IOI Properties Group Bhd's (IOIPG) wholly-owned subsidiary, Fortune Growers Sdn Bhd, is disposing of 50 hectares of industrial land in Banting, Selangor, to Bridge Data Centres Malaysia VIII Sdn Bhd (BDC) for RM740.68 million. The group stated that the land is situated in the IOI Industrial Park @ Banting and BDC's purchase is aimed at supporting the expansion of its data centre business.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, IOIPG group chief executive officer Datuk Lee Yeow Seng highlighted the strategic location of the industrial park, offering access to major highways and proximity to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Port Klang. The IOI Industrial Park series, established in 2024, aligns with national initiatives such as the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, facilitated by collaboration with the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Invest Selangor, utilities providers, and local authorities.

Beyond Banting, the IOI Industrial Park series includes a 101-hectare industrial park in Melaka and the 445-hectare IOI Industrial Park @ Iskandar Malaysia in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone. Looking forward, Lee mentioned plans for a 500,000 square feet logistics warehousing facility in the IOI Industrial Park @ Banting and another similar facility in Iskandar Malaysia.

Lee noted that these facilities might be leased long-term with select logistic partners as part of a strategic expansion to enhance the recurring income portfolio of their property investment segment over the coming years.
