Investigation Paper On Dog Death During Operation Referred To DPP

Port klang: The investigation paper into the death of a dog during a stray dog-catching operation at Taman Teluk Gedung Indah in Port Klang has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor yesterday. Klang Selatan district police chief ACP Lim Jit Huey said the police are currently awaiting further instructions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the investigation paper on the case was referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor yesterday. "We are awaiting further instructions," Lim said briefly when contacted by the media.

Previously, Lim was reported as saying that the investigation paper into the incident, which occurred during a stray dog capture operation by the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) in collaboration with residents, had been opened under Section 428 of the Penal Code. Lim said the dog was confirmed dead after the incident, which occurred at about 10.50 pm on July 29 in front of a house in the residential area. The carcass has since been sent to the Selangor Veterinary Department headquarters for a post-mortem examination.

The footage of the incident circulating on social media shows a group of men tying up and dragging a dog while a woman pleaded with them to release the animal.
