Internet Woes In Kampung Seberang Gajah Set To End With New Telecom Tower

Kuala lumpur: Kampung Seberang Gajah Internet connectivity issues faced by residents of Kampung Seberang Gajah here will soon be resolved following plans to build a new telecommunications tower in the area. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said although there are two existing telecommunications towers nearby, their coverage is insufficient and unable to meet the needs of residents in the surrounding areas.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, to address the coverage issue, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has instructed telecommunications service providers to build a new tower. 'The construction plan for the new tower has been finalised, and the company is currently awaiting permit approval from the local authority before work can begin,' she said.

She said this to reporters after conducting a survey of telecommunications service performance together with MCMC and representatives of service providers in Kampung Seberang Gajah here today. Also present were Head of the State Affairs Sector Bukhari Yahya, MCMC Southern Region Office director Rizal Abd Malek, and representatives from telecommunications companies.

At the same time, Teo urged the permit approval process and construction works to be expedited to ensure residents can enjoy more stable and higher-quality internet connection in the near future.
