Kuala lumpur: Experienced national women’s football striker Intan Serah Anisah Zulgafli is among those selected for the centralised training camp of the Malayan Tigress squad in preparation for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand next month.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) announced that the squad, under the guidance of Joel Cornelli, also features a United States-based player, Miami Dade Sharks defender Kanchenjeet Kaur Nanua. Out of the 23 players selected, Cornelli has retained 19 from the 24 players who participated in the two Tier 1 international friendlies against Hong Kong on October 22 and 25.
The Malayan Tigress is scheduled to play against Bangladesh on November 26 and Azerbaijan on November 29 in the Tri Nations Women’s International Series 2025. After these matches, the squad will continue their centralised training in Kuala Lumpur before departing for Chonburi, Thailand, on December 3. There, they will face Group B opponents Vietnam on December 5, Myanmar on December 8, and the Philippines on December 11 at the TNSU Stadium in Chonburi.
The group champions and runners-up from Groups A and B will advance to the semi-finals on December 14, with the final and third-place matches scheduled for December 17. The following is the list of 23 players called up by Cornelli for the Malayan Tigress centralised training camp beginning next Monday, November 17.
