Kuala lumpur:<Text>

The institutional reform measures announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, including the proposal to limit the Prime Minister's term of office to two terms or ten years and the separation of powers between the Attorney-General and the public prosecutor, have been described as an important development in strengthening the country's democratic system. Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said the measures were critical to establish stronger checks and balances within national institutions, while also preventing the concentration or monopoly of power in key positions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nga welcomed the Prime Minister's announcement to implement these institutional reforms. He emphasized that the MADANI Government remains committed to realizing the institutional reform agenda to strengthen democracy, the rule of law, and good governance, aligning with the interests of the people and the country's future.

<P >Nga stated that the government also aims to enhance public trust and transparency by tabling the Freedom of Information Bill 2026, which will provide the public with broader access to government information and decisions. This Act is expected to complement the Malaysian Media Council's role in ensuring access to accurate information, nurturing a society capable of making informed decisions.

Additionally, Nga highlighted that the Prime Minister's 2026 Address was a continuation of the MADANI Government's achievements over its three years of administration. These achievements include the enactment of the Parliamentary Services Act 2025, granting Parliament autonomy in governance and administration, thus reinforcing the separation of powers doctrine.

The government also introduced the Government Service Efficiency Commitment Act 2025 to enhance service efficiency and reduce bureaucratic red tape by at least 25 percent within three years. Furthermore, the Government Procure ment Act 2025 aims to improve transparency, integrity, and efficiency in public procurement processes.

A notable reform includes the automatic granting of citizenship to children born overseas to Malaysian citizen mothers and foreign fathers, which Nga described as a progressive step towards gender equality. He asserted that the reforms carried out by the MADANI Government not only fulfill manifesto promises but also elevate transparency, accountability, and integrity within Malaysia's administrative and legal systems.

Nga concluded by urging all Malaysians to support the MADANI Government led by the Prime Minister, so Malaysia can continue progressing towards excellence and gain high regard on the global stage.
