Kuala kangsar: More than RM30,000 has been allocated for the inaugural Kuala Kangsar Panjut Festival Competition 2026, which will take place on March 15 and 16. The event is designed to spotlight the panjut tradition, an integral part of preparations for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee announced that the competition will see participation from 13 villages, seven government departments and agencies, and one non-governmental organization. The contest will feature two categories: agencies and Village Development and Security Committees.
Loh Sze Yee further stated that winners of the competition will receive cash prizes. The event is anticipated to draw tourists, thereby promoting Kuala Kangsar and Perak as prime tourism destinations. Preparations for the festival have already begun, with participants gearing up for the event since earlier this week.
The official results of the competition are scheduled to be announced on March 16 at Persisiran Sayong, marking the conclusion of the festival.
