Immigration Officer Faces Charges for Allegedly Robbing Pakistani National

Rembau: A 38-year-old immigration officer has pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to charges of robbing a Pakistani national in Rembau on July 11. The accused, Mohd Nazrul Md Yassin, entered the plea following the reading of the charge in front of Magistrate Yusna Khadijah Md Yusop.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Nazrul is accused of stealing a mobile phone, passport, RM440 in cash, and a TnG eWallet balance of RM210 from the victim at 6.10 pm in Kampung Miku Pindah. The charge falls under Section 392 of the Penal Code, which could lead to a maximum sentence of 14 years in jail, along with potential fines or caning if convicted.

Magistrate Yusna Khadijah Md Yusop denied the accused bail and scheduled the case for mention on August 14 at the Kuala Pilah Sessions Court. The prosecution was represented by Deputy Public Prosecutor Goh Hsiao Tung, while the accused did not have legal representation.
