Putrajaya:The Immigration Department (JIM) has announced its continued efforts to enforce immigration laws against foreigners violating regulations, including those forming settlements and conducting business operations deemed illegal.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the director-general of JIM, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban, stated that enforcement operations will be heightened nationwide in response to the increasing number of arrests and operations conducted throughout the year.
Zakaria emphasized that the department's actions are not limited to residential areas but also target online scam syndicates and business activities in breach of immigration laws. He highlighted the department's commitment to ongoing enforcement, asserting, "We will not stop at one point. As long as an activity falls within the jurisdiction of the Malaysian Immigration Department, we will continue to enforce it."
The director-general also advised the public against disseminating information about suspected illegal activities before reporting them to authorities, as premature exposure can hinder enforcement. He cited an incident in Janda Baik where media coverage led to an empty location upon the department's arrival, underscoring the importance of discreet reporting to ensure effective action.
In addition to enforcement efforts, Zakaria launched the JIM-level National Sports Day celebration, promoting a healthy lifestyle among department employees. The initiative aims to encourage regular physical activity to support overall health and well-being.
