Paroi: Imigresen FC coach Yusri Che Lah expressed his gratitude after his team managed to record an important victory in the Super League last night, thus ending a string of disappointing results. He said the victory against Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) which ended 2-1 was highly anticipated after his team was eliminated from all cup competitions this season including the Malaysia Cup and the Challenge Cup.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yusri emphasized the significance of this victory as it marks a pivotal point for Imigresen FC after a series of setbacks. 'This is the victory we wanted and it means a lot after being eliminated in all competitions, we lost to NSFC here and were eliminated from the Malaysia Cup, two weeks later we lost to Kelantan The Real Warriors for the Challenge Cup, now only the Super League remains. Tonight with this victory, we are level on points with the team that is one step above us, congratulations to the players for giving everything and understanding the management's desire for us to give better to be in the middle of the league chart,' he said.
He made these remarks to reporters following the match in which Imigresen FC overcame NSFC with two goals from imported player Eduardo Jose Sosa Vegas in the 40th and 84th minutes at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi. With the victory, Imigresen FC is now in seventh place with 18 points, while NSFC is in ninth place with 17 points.
Yusri admitted that the match was not straightforward because the Jang's squad played with a player less after Yuichi Hirano was sent off in the 22nd minute for a foul. Meanwhile, NSFC head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil said that a loss of concentration in the final five minutes of the match contributed to his team losing despite taking the lead with a goal in the eighth minute.
Nidzam emphasized the importance of maintaining focus throughout the entire match, stating, "The team has to focus one hundred per cent in the 90 minutes of the game, we cannot allow pressure to control us, the most important thing is concentration, it needs to be improved immediately." He acknowledged the recent decline in the team's performance and mentioned that the management remains supportive and aware of the team's challenges.
"There is no issue of distrust (in his leadership) but the result of the match is still the main determinant and the result can affect many things..it is normal in the career of a coach. My responsibility is to ensure the team plays better than the previous season. If the performance is not up to target, I am the first person to be held responsible, but in football it is not just about the head coach, there are many small things that we need to pay attention to," he added.
