Kuala lumpur: The National Heart Institute (IJN) is offering an exclusive 15 per cent discount on its Essential Heart Screening Package to media practitioners in conjunction with National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2026.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, IJN Marketing Department head Farah Delah Suhaimi stated that the initiative aims to recognize the dedication of media personnel, who often juggle demanding schedules while needing to prioritize their heart health. The package includes an electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiogram (ECHO), and a consultation session with a cardiologist.

Bookings and payments can be made within the next three months at the HAWANA booth or through the IJN website, with screening appointments available flexibly until the end of this year, she explained.

Malaysian Media Council board member Adie Suri Zulkefli, 46, noted that cost and time constraints frequently deter media practitioners from regular health screenings. He welcomed the IJN initiative, emphasizing that the significant discount and flexible booking options provide a strong incentive for media professionals to prioritize their heart health before it becomes critical.
