According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sandro Camilleri, the chief executive officer of Identis, described the launch as a significant milestone for the group and all its stakeholders. The company’s rapid growth, fueled by in-house innovation and strategic acquisitions, has resulted in a robust portfolio across Secure Identity and Payments. Initially focused on payment card issuance for financial institutions, Matica expanded into high-growth digital identity markets, establishing itself as a trusted provider.
Now operating under the name Identis, the company has become a significant player in the Secure ID sector, utilizing technologies that integrate physical and digital identity ecosystems. This evolution indicates a shift from a hardware-centric approach to a comprehensive identity solutions model.
As a family-owned enterprise, Identis benefits from its entrepreneurial roots, global presence, and diverse teams, enabling it to compete with larger industry peers. The company’s solutions encompass centralized, decentralized, and digital ID applications, bridging both physical and digital trust infrastructures.
Camilleri noted that identity solutions now contribute to half of the company’s annual revenue, heralding a new era shaped by technology and innovation. Identis builds on the foundations of Matica, Panini, and UbiQ, alongside its large Secure ID business.
Identis offers nearly 100 solutions across hardware, software, and consumables. Its modular and interoperable architecture allows for seamless integration into various customer environments.
