According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ICU JPM clarified on its official Facebook page that the poster was created and distributed by an individual without reference to or verification from the department. The department emphasized that the application method shown in the poster is inaccurate and should not be considered an official reference. The public has been urged to refrain from redistributing the poster.

Furthermore, the ICU JPM has advised the public to verify any information related to government assistance, grants, or initiatives through all State ICU JPM Offices and official ICU JPM social media accounts. They highlighted the importance of obtaining accurate information to avoid miscommunication and potential legal implications.

The ICU JPM also reminded the public of the legal consequences for creating or disseminating false or misleading content through network facilities. Such actions may constitute an offence under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588). Conviction can lead to a fine of up to RM500,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both.
