Hanoi: The third Regional Asian Post Alliance (RAPA) Meeting was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, bringing together postal authorities from Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia to discuss regional cooperation in logistics, digital commerce, and retail connectivity. A key outcome of the meeting was the official handover of the RAPA chairmanship from Vietnam Post to Thailand Post, with Thailand Post set to hold the rotating leadership role through end-2026.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, IceKredit participated as a technology contributor, with Founder Dr. Gu Lingyun delivering a presentation titled 'Unlocking the Value of Postal Data: A Digital and AI Journey', focusing on how data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) can support modernisation in the postal sector. Dr. Gu outlined several areas for potential applications, including data standardisation, intelligent decision support, and service integration, according to a statement.
Meanwhile, IceKredit representative Kong Chinang also provided an update on RAPA Shop, the alliance's cross-border retail platform aimed at connecting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in member countries with regional consumers via postal and digital channels. Following the presentations, delegates discussed topics including geospatial intelligence, federated learning, knowledge graphs, compliance solutions, logistics collaboration, and last-mile delivery services.
The meeting also featured discussions on integration among postal networks and support for cross-border trade across ASEAN. The meeting opened with remarks from Vietnam Post Chairman, Nguyen Truong Giang, and Thailand Post Chairman, Rathapol Bhakdibhumi, who highlighted the importance of translating regional cooperation into practical implementation.
Thailand Post reviewed progress since the 2025 Bangkok meeting, including strategic alliances, e-commerce partnerships, product distribution, and governance matters. The alliance confirmed that its next meeting will be held in Indonesia in the fourth quarter of 2026.
