Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that he has consistently addressed all inquiries posed by opposition Members of Parliament in the Dewan Rakyat, refuting any claims of evasion.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar clarified that during the Minister’s Question Time (MQT) every Tuesday, which is allocated for the Prime Minister, all questions have been answered either by himself or the relevant ministers. He pointed out that some MPs persist in repeating questions despite having received explanations multiple times. “I answer all the questions raised… if anyone claims I’m avoiding them, I’m not avoiding. Ask me any question, I will not avoid it,” Anwar stated before addressing questions during today’s MQT session in the Dewan Rakyat.
The session saw earlier concerns from Perikatan Nasional’s Chief Whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Bharu), who queried the absence of opposition questions in the day’s list. Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul clarified that the selection process for the MQT session questions falls under his discretion. He disclosed that only one question was submitted by the opposition, compared to eight from the government bloc, and noted that the opposition’s query was a repetition.
Johari reassured that he had reviewed all questions and found that the opposition’s inquiries had been previously answered, denying any allegations of partiality. He added that the opposition’s questions would be further deliberated by the relevant Select Committee (JKPK) in a meeting with ministers and senior government officials scheduled for tomorrow.
