Hylo Open: Wei Chong-Kai Wun’s Final Hopes Dashed

Kuala lumpur: The hopes of national men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun to advance to the final of the Hylo Open were dashed after they lost to Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the result means there will be no Malaysian representatives in the Hylo Open final after Wei Chong-Kai Wun, the country’s sole semi-finalists in the Super 500 tournament, were eliminated.

In the match, the third-seeded Malaysian duo went down in straight sets 21-16, 21-15 in just 34 minutes.

The defeat marked their third loss in four encounters against the Indonesian pair, with their only victory coming at the Indonesia Open last year.
