Sungai bakap: Hospital (HSB) is seeking public assistance to trace the family members or next of kin of a man who died on Aug 10 after receiving treatment at the hospital since May.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, HSB stated that M. Balakrishnan, 29, passed away at 6.53 pm on Aug 10 in Ward 3 due to severe sepsis with multi-organ failure. His body has been placed at the hospital's Forensic Medicine Unit since his death.

The statement from HSB detailed that the deceased, who was homeless, had been transferred from Bukit Mertajam Hospital to HSB on May 27, as he awaited placement at a care centre managed by the Social Welfare Department (JKM). Despite efforts to identify his next of kin, no relatives, next of kin, or acquaintances visited him during his hospital stay. The National Registration Department (JPN) identified his last known address as No. 19, Jalan Sungai Buloh, Taman Segar, Kampung Baru Subang, Selangor.

Additionally, police checks indicated that the address was inhabited by a Malay family who had no knowledge of Balakrishnan or his family. HSB urges members of the public with any information regarding Balakrishnan's family or next of kin to come forward to assist with matters concerning his remains.
