HPPNK Sales Reach RM7.6 Mln On Day Two, Target Within Sight

Sabah: The 2025 National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen Day (HPPNK) has recorded RM7.6 million in sales and attracted about 300,000 visitors as of the second day of the event yesterday. Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said he was confident the target of 500,000 visitors and RM15 million in total sales could be achieved by the end of the programme tonight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu expressed optimism about reaching the targets due to the increasing number of visitors and anticipated sales boosts from price reductions towards the program’s conclusion. He shared these insights with reporters following the HPPNK 2025 closing ceremony, which was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Sabah International Convention Centre.

Mohamad further highlighted that the event saw the signing of 14 strategic documents, including Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements, with a total value of RM526 million. The ministry emphasized primary export commodities such as durian, pineapple, and fresh coconut.

Additionally, the potential for expansion of avocado and onion crops from Sabah was noted. Avocado cultivation has begun in Tawau and shows promise, while onion farming in Ranau is thriving. Mohamad expressed belief that both crops could be developed for future export.
