Sabah: The National Farmers’ Organization (NAFAS) booth became a major draw for young people at the National Farmers, Livestock Breeders, and Fishermen’s Day (HPPNK) 2025 celebration, featuring various exciting activities including e-sports at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, NAFAS General Manager Muhammad Faris Arriffin stated that more than 3,000 young visitors had visited the NAFAS Agro Millennia Pavilion since its opening last Friday, with a target of 5,000 visitors on the final day, which is today.
“On this final day, we might reach our target of 5,000 young visitors because there will be a lucky draw during the closing ceremony and we have prepared many attractive prizes like a motorcycle, an electric scooter, gold coin wafers, watches, and so on.” Muhammad Faris said. He explained that NAFAS was entrusted with the responsibility of attracting the public, especially young people, to HPPNK 2025, which led to the creation of the Agro Millennia Pavilion. The pavilion hosted activities such as Mobile Legends tournaments, virtual reality, Kahoot, and PlayStation 5, while also exposing attendees to agricultural activities and the industry.
He was speaking to Bernama after holding a ‘Happy Hour’ sale that offered an exclusive Capybara plushie as a prize for customers who bought two drinks at the NAFAS booth, located on the second floor of Kinabatangan Hall, SICC today. Muhammad Faris emphasized that NAFAS focused on exhibitions and activities to attract the public and provide exposure about the national farmers’ organization’s work.
He noted that after seeing the encouraging response to the Mobile Legends e-sports activity at HPPNK 2023 in Ipoh, Perak, NAFAS added other games like Virtual Reality (VR) and Arcade for this year’s Sabah edition, which also received an encouraging response. In addition, he mentioned that NAFAS also recorded product sales of RM50,000 in the first two days and is targeting a total of RM75,000 on the final day of HPPNK 2025 today.
Muhammad Faris said they showcased products such as agricultural inputs, fertilizers, frozen products, and the ‘Peladang’ brand at the booth throughout the three-day HPPNK event. “We want to introduce products to agricultural entrepreneurs at HPPNK, including a newly launched fertilizer that we have put in the booth for them to see for themselves. Farmers who come can see the ‘Super Peladang’ fertilizer in its new packaging, along with a quality guarantee with SIRIM recognition and so on. We promise a fertilizer that meets specifications and is of very high quality,” he said.
As the main sponsor of this 50th edition of HPPNK, NAFAS is committed to strengthening the development of the national agri-food sector, especially in Sabah, through a holistic approach that includes the younger generation and strategic networking. This year’s involvement features a comprehensive approach that includes elements for the younger generation, industrial development, and strengthening strategic cooperation networks. The closing ceremony of HPPNK 2025 was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
