Jengka: World Rural Development Day (HPLBS) 2026 highlights the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development's (KKDW) role in strengthening the rural development agenda in a comprehensive manner, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The Rural and Regional Development Minister stated that efforts will continue to ensure that rural communities enjoy broader opportunities, a stronger economy, better facilities, and a more prosperous future in line with national progress.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized that from this year onwards, July 6 would serve as a platform to recognize the role of rural communities while elevating the rural development agenda to a higher level. He remarked on the historical significance of selecting this date, which coincides with the establishment of the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), known for its long-standing role in rural development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Ahmad Zahid also extended his World Rural Development Day greetings to all Malaysians in conjunction with the celebration themed 'Toward Vibrant, Prosperous and Happy Rural Communities'.
