Beijing: China on Thursday launched island-wide special customs operations in south China's Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), the world's largest FTP by area. This initiative allows freer entry of overseas goods, expands zero-tariff coverage, and introduces more business-friendly measures.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chinese President Xi Jinping, after hearing a work report on the FTP in early November, praised the special customs operations as a significant step toward expanding high-standard opening up and fostering an open world economy. He emphasized the need to enhance the facilitation of cross-border flows of production factors and to aim for creating a top-tier business environment.
