Horizon Quantum and Alice & Bob Collaborate to Advance Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing

Singapore: Horizon Quantum Computing Pte Ltd (Horizon Quantum) and Alice and Bob (A and B) have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) software development. Horizon Quantum, known for its software infrastructure for quantum applications, is partnering with A and B, a developer of fault-tolerant quantum computers, to create a comprehensive solution that integrates A and B's emulators with Horizon Quantum's Triple Alpha development platform.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this collaboration is set to deliver a full-stack solution that unites advanced hardware and software technologies. The initiative is poised to set the stage for the deployment of complex algorithms on A and B's upcoming quantum processing units (QPUs). Dr. Joe Fitzsimons, CEO of Horizon Quantum, emphasized the significance of fault-tolerant systems in realizing the full potential of quantum computing and highlighted the advancement this partnership brings towards practical FTQC.

Dr. Th©au Peronnin, CEO of A and B, noted that building a complete quantum software stack necessitates meticulous integration of algorithms, error correction, and compilation. He underscored the importance of a rigorous, research-driven approach, which this partnership aims to achieve.

The collaboration focuses on developing a comprehensive compilation pipeline that enhances hardware performance and simplifies quantum programming. When available, Triple Alpha will be among the first platforms to compile and deploy software to A and B's FTQC hardware. A and B's emulators will facilitate testing of quantum error correction protocols, thereby expanding Horizon Quantum's support for multiple hardware architectures.

This partnership also aims to incorporate Triple Alpha's resource analysis capabilities into A and B's systems, optimizing quantum algorithm resources by tracking metrics such as qubit count and gate count. This optimization is intended to accelerate the practical application of quantum computers.

Horizon Quantum and A and B are working together to expedite the development of scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing, envisioning a future where quantum algorithms are accessible and impactful across various industries.
