Kuala lumpur: Hong Kong Disneyland will hold open call auditions here on June 20 and 21, inviting Malaysian talent to join its cast as dancers and character performers. In a statement, the theme park said it is turning its attention to Malaysia after discovering performers across Asia, including Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, South Korea, and Thailand.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this special casting tour celebrates the country's vibrant artistic community and the strong potential of its dancers and performers. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to bring Disney stories, characters, and moments of wonder to life for guests from around the world.
The two-day audition will be held at the Asia Ballet Academy, Menara KLGCC, Bukit Kiara, beginning with a workshop led by Hong Kong Disneyland casting directors. The workshop will offer insights into Disney performance standards and storytelling through movement, followed by separate live auditions for dancers and character performers.
The casting team is seeking dancers with strong technical foundations, particularly in jazz and ballet, as well as versatility for large-scale stage shows, parades, seasonal celebrations, and special events. The initiative reflects Hong Kong Disneyland's ongoing efforts to discover talent across Asia, including Malaysia.
