Home Ministry to Enhance National Integrated Immigration System

Kuala Lampur:The Home Ministry will strengthen the implementation of the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) by improving early screening, traveller risk assessment, and profiling, along with providing real-time data-sharing access among various agencies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that these measures would gradually replace the existing Malaysian Immigration System (myIMMs) through the adoption of more modern and integrated technology and infrastructure.

NIISe's real-time data integration and sharing will involve cooperation with various agencies, including the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Interpol, Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), Prisons Department, and Ministry of Transport to support comprehensive border surveillance.

The ministry is committed to enhancing the country's border control and surveillance through information integration and strategic cooperation among enforcement agencies to ensure national security and sovereignty. Currently, real-time data sharing and integration are implemented through myIMMs, which supports the Immigration Department's main operations, including control at entry points and checking travel documents against Interpol databases.

Saifuddin Nasution highlighted the ongoing modernisation and improvement of control systems at entry points to boost immigration management efficiency. He also mentioned the government's long-term plan to design and develop a border control system using the latest technology to tackle future security challenges.

To support this forward-looking border security ecosystem, the government is developing the National Border Control System (SKSN), equipped with the latest surveillance technology based on artificial intelligence and data analytics. This system aims to enable operations without human supervision, ensure rapid dissemination of information in real time, and provide continuous surveillance along Malaysia's land and maritime borders.

Currently, SKSN is a ministry-level plan, with ongoing efforts to refine its details to safeguard Malaysia's peace, stability, and sovereignty.
