Langkawi: A total of 99,128 ferry tickets for travel between Kuala Kedah, Kuala Perlis, and Langkawi have been sold so far for the upcoming Aidiladha celebration and school holidays. Konsortium Langkawi Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd operations manager Lt Commander (Rtd) Norhafiz Abdul Wahid stated that 120 regular trips and 53 additional trips have been scheduled from May 21 to June 7.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, an estimated 100,000 visitors are expected to use the passenger ferry services on the Langkawi-Kuala Kedah-Langkawi and Langkawi-Kuala Perlis-Langkawi routes. Of these, 99,128 tickets have already been sold through online, over-the-counter, and other booking channels.
Passenger ferry operations run from 7 am to 7 pm daily and will be extended until 10 pm if there is high demand from online ticket sales. Despite global geopolitical crises and high fuel costs, visitors have not been deterred from traveling to the island and are choosing from various holiday packages available in Langkawi.
Visitors are advised to purchase tickets online via the Cuti-Cuti Langkawi application to avoid running out of tickets. The ferry operations will maintain a high state of readiness throughout the school holidays and Aidiladha season.
