HKN 2025 Records Over RM1 Mln In Sales – SKM

Kuala lumpur: The National Cooperative Day (HKN) 2025 celebration, held over three days from Friday to Sunday, recorded sales amounting to RM1,099,862.55. The Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (SKM) emphasized the event’s theme, ‘Cooperatives Empowering Communities, Building a MADANI Nation’, and highlighted its significant economic impact on the local cooperative ecosystem, with potential sales surpassing RM21 million.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the celebration attracted 58,114 visitors, exceeding the initial target of 50,000. This turnout demonstrated substantial public support for government initiatives aimed at promoting cooperatives through community-focused programmes, particularly benefiting the B40 group.

The SKM noted that the MyFutureJobs On The Go Programme drew 655 participants, offering them direct access to employment opportunities in various sectors through collaborations with participating companies and enterprises.

The statement revealed that Malaysia’s cooperative movement is experiencing steady growth, with 16,284 cooperatives operating nationwide across different economic sectors. Cooperative membership now exceeds 7.2 million people, accounting for nearly one-fifth of the country’s population.

The achievements of the cooperative sector are reflected in its total revenue of RM68.1 billion, which indicates public confidence in cooperatives as an inclusive and sustainable platform for economic development. Additionally, the total assets of the cooperative sector have reached RM173 billion, bolstered by share capital and membership fees amounting to RM18.3 billion as of 2024.
