HKHM Committee Lauded for Successful National and Malaysia Day Celebrations – Fahmi.

PUTRAJAYA: Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil praised the National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2024 celebration committee for their excellent management of both events. Fahmi, who chairs the HKHM 2024 Main Committee, highlighted the successful organization of the National Day at Putrajaya Square and Malaysia Day at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu, which drew thousands of attendees with various attractions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi expressed his gratitude to the committee members during the Closing Ceremony of HKHM 2024, emphasizing the crucial role each individual played in the success of the celebrations. He acknowledged the challenges of chairing the committee, labeling it as one of the most difficult tasks he has undertaken.

The 67th National Day celebration was attended by over 100,000 visitors, while more than 40,000 participated in the Malaysia Day 2024 festivities, organized in partnership with the Sabah state government. Fahmi noted the presence of Malaysian royalty, including His Maj
esty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, along with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and Cabinet Ministers, which added to the event’s grandeur.

Fahmi also recognized the contributions of security personnel, volunteers, and media who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth execution of the events. He emphasized that such large-scale events require commitment and cooperation from everyone involved.

While celebrating the success of HKHM 2024, Fahmi acknowledged areas for improvement to enhance future celebrations. He expressed optimism that next year’s event would be even more dynamic with unique contributions from various ministries, departments, and agencies.

More than 800 individuals involved in HKHM 2024 were honored at the ceremony, receiving plaques and certificates of appreciation. Among the recipients was Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, the chief executive officer of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), who was recognized by Fahmi f
