Pangkor: Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir today urged all parties not to exaggerate the issue regarding the recent suspension of a part-time consultant at a paediatric department of a university hospital. He emphasized the importance of verifying the facts before making accusations or spreading unfounded statements.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) has already received a report on the matter and will delegate the responsibility of a full investigation to the appropriate party. Dr Zambry highlighted the seriousness of the allegations and expressed his expectation for clarity once the investigation is conducted. He noted that the department head’s action was a temporary suspension rather than an outright dismissal.
Dr Zambry stated that any further actions would depend on the findings of the investigation. His comments were made following the launch of the Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) of the MADANI Pangkor Community Entrepreneurship programme in Kampung Tengah, Pulau Pangkor.
The university involved has submitted a report to Dr Zambry for his review before any additional steps are taken. The issue gained public attention when a social media influencer raised questions on X (formerly Twitter) about the hospital director’s decision to suspend the consultant.
