Pulau indah: Hextar Industries Bhd's (HIB) 70 per cent-owned subsidiary, Hextar Mitai Sdn Bhd (HMSB), has secured a RM138.42 million engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a large-scale industrial development in Pulau Indah, Selangor. The contract was executed today with a private company primarily involved in the investment of non-residential properties. It encompasses structural, architectural finishes, landscape, infrastructure, mechanical, and electrical works for five industrial buildings.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the development includes three production factories and warehouse buildings, two workers' hostel buildings, and ancillary facilities, covering an area of 80,928.52 square meters (8.09 hectares) with a gross floor area of approximately 101,801 square meters (10.18 hectares). HIB stated in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the project is slated to commence on July 7, 2026, with an anticipated completion timeline of 12 months, subject to confirmation by the awarding party through an official completion certificate.
In a press statement, group managing director Benny Ang highlighted that the contract represents a significant milestone in the growth of HIB's civil engineering division. He noted that the agreement reinforces the group's technical capabilities, enhances the order book, and improves earnings visibility while strengthening HIB's track record in industrial infrastructure projects.
HIB executive director Alex Sham expressed optimism regarding the project's positive contribution to the group's earnings once construction begins. He emphasized that the increasing demand for industrial infrastructure development in the Klang Valley augments the group's EPC portfolio and positions HIB advantageously to explore similar future opportunities.
Main Market-listed HIB is a diversified industrial group with operations spanning fertilisers, engineering services, industrial products, office supplies, and food and beverage.
