Kuala lumpur: Hextar Capital Bhd's subsidiary, Legacy Core Sdn Bhd, has secured a sub-contract for the Camp Kabota Project in Tawau, Sabah, valued at RM75.9 million. The sub-contract was announced in a filing with Bursa Malaysia and will include geotechnical and earthworks, pavement, infrastructure works, and related construction activities.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hextar's managing director, Johnson Chang, stated that the contract represents a strategic move for the group, enhancing its presence in East Malaysia. Chang emphasized the importance of the project in establishing a stronger operational base in Sabah as the state continues to focus on infrastructure development and urban growth.

The project is set to commence immediately and has a planned duration of 12 months, with completion targeted by March 31, 2027. Hextar is a diversified group with interests in manufacturing, engineering services, telecommunications infrastructure, power generation, construction, and project management.
