Las vegas: HERE Technologies and Hyundai AutoEver (HAE) have announced an expansion of their online navigation collaboration, which now includes Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles. The announcement was made during the CES 2026 event.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, HERE Technologies, a leader in mapping and location data, along with Hyundai AutoEver, the mobility software arm of Hyundai Motor Group, are set to redefine navigation for the software-defined vehicle era. The partnership aims to make navigation systems smarter, more connected, and more responsive to real-world conditions.
Deon Newman, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific at HERE Technologies, emphasized the transformative nature of this collaboration. The expansion into North America and Australia signifies a significant step in enhancing the delivery of intelligent, real-time, and personalized navigation experiences, as noted by Dongkwon Suh, Head of Navigation Division at HAE.
Leveraging HERE's advanced maps and AI-driven map-making capabilities, Hyundai AutoEver is now able to provide faster and more accurate updates for its online navigation system. This includes reducing the map data update cycle by more than fivefold, which allows for more rapid reflection of updated roads, speed limits, and points of interest in infotainment platforms across North America and Australia.
The expansion impacts over one million vehicles equipped with Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) and Connected Car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC27) systems. This enhancement aims to improve navigation accuracy, provide real-time location intelligence, and enrich the overall driver experience.
HERE Technologies' unified mapping architecture, which integrates data from over 44 million connected vehicles, sensors, and community sources, supports advanced driver assistance, automated driving systems, and AI-driven cockpit features. This includes natural language interactions and personalized travel planning, crucial for the next generation of connected, software-defined vehicles.
The collaboration's goal is to evolve Hyundai AutoEver's online navigation into a streaming navigation solution. By leveraging HERE APIs and SDKs, the partnership seeks to enable lane-level guidance, live map rendering, ADAS integration, and Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) capabilities.
This development builds upon a longstanding partnership between HERE Technologies and Hyundai AutoEver, combining innovation and global reach with a strong commitment to enhancing customer experience.
