Pengkalan chepa: The husband of helicopter crash victim Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin has expressed his appreciation to all those who assisted with and prayed for the smooth handling of his wife's remains. Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, 37, acknowledged the support from the federal, Sarawak, and Kelantan governments, which significantly aided arrangements concerning his late wife, including throughout his time in Sarawak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Faiz shared that fate had taken its course, but he was grateful for the ease of the process. He received support from friends and strangers alike, which he considered a blessing for his deceased wife as she received the support and prayers of Malaysians nationwide. He thanked everyone, including the media, during his meeting with reporters at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa.

He mentioned that although arrangements in Sarawak took some time due to initial uncertainty, everything proceeded smoothly and was completed earlier than expected, including the identification process and DNA testing. He accepted the situation but admitted that memories of her often resurfaced, causing him emotional distress.

Dr Ainul Baraah, 33, was laid to rest at the Sri Kedeper Muslim Cemetery at 2.20 pm following funeral prayers at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa. She was among five people killed in a Flying Doctor Service helicopter crash at the Long Lellang STOLport in Baram last Tuesday.
