Johor Bahru: Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) head coach Hector Bidoglio is satisfied with his team’s 3-0 victory over Penang FC in a Super League match at City Stadium last night. Fielding his best starting eleven, Hector said the win augured well for his team’s preparation for the Malaysia Cup final against Sri Pahang FC on April 12.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Argentina-born coach praised the commitment of his team, who have already clinched the 2024/2025 Super League title. He noted that the players performed well by maintaining control and moving the ball effectively across the field. Hector emphasized the importance of the upcoming Malaysia Cup final and the need for his team to remain focused and continue their development.
Hector expressed hope that midfielder Arif Aiman’s injury was not severe but acknowledged that they would have to wait for the medical team’s assessment. Meanwhile, Penang head coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail admitted that his players appeared nervous at the start, leading to an early goal concession. He pointed out that the absence of four key players due to injuries also impacted the team, but he praised the young players who stepped up and gave their best effort during the match.
Penang currently sits in ninth place in the league, level on 20 points with Sri Pahang and Kedah Darul Aman. With three matches remaining, Wan Rohaimi expressed hope for improved momentum as key players return to the squad.
