Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorms Expected In 11 States Till 6 PM

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in 11 states till 6 pm today. The warning highlights potential severe weather conditions that residents and authorities in the affected areas should prepare for.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the states expected to experience these weather conditions include Perlis and Kuala Lumpur, as well as Hulu Selangor and Hulu Langat in Selangor. In Negeri Sembilan, the areas of Jelebu and Jempol are on alert, while in Johor, Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Mersing, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are forecasted to be affected.

In Perak, the regions of Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim are included in the warning. Kedah residents in Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, and Baling should also prepare for adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, and Rompin in Pahang are under alert.

MetMalaysia has also identified areas in Kelantan, including Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang, along with Terengganu regions such as Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman, as being at risk.

In Sabah, the affected areas comprise the Interior region of Nabawan, the West Coast areas including Ranau and Kota Belud, as well as Tawau, Sandakan’s Kinabatangan, and Kudat’s Pitas. Residents in these areas are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
