Sri aman: No area recorded a hazardous Air Pollutant Index (API) reading due to the haze as of 4 pm today, although Sri Aman in Sarawak was the only area to record a very unhealthy reading of 216.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal reported unhealthy API readings in 35 other areas nationwide, moderate readings in 27 areas, and good readings in four areas. Sarawak remained the worst-hit state, with 11 areas recording unhealthy air quality. These areas include Samalaju and Samarahan, both with an API of 196, followed by Kuching at 191, Bintulu at 190, Mukah at 188, Sarikei at 185, IPD Serian at 182, ILP Miri at 176, Sibu at 174, Miri at 170, and Limbang at 157. Kapit was the only station in the state to record a moderate API reading, at 90.

Meanwhile, six areas in Selangor, namely Johan Setia with an API of 181, Shah Alam at 168, Kuala Selangor at 158, Petaling Jaya at 157, Klang at 156, and Banting at 155, recorded unhealthy API readings. In Kuala Lumpur, Batu Muda and Cheras recorded API readings of 164 and 162, respectively, while Putrajaya and Labuan both recorded an API of 162 and 157.

Additional areas with unhealthy API readings were observed in Pahang, with Jerantut at 168 and Temerloh at 161. Negeri Sembilan recorded unhealthy readings in Nilai at 167, Seremban at 164, and Port Dickson at 121. In Sabah, Kota Kinabalu recorded a reading of 157 and Kimanis at 151. Tanjung Malim in Perak also recorded an unhealthy API reading of 153.

In the southern region, Segamat, Tangkak, Batu Pahat, and Kluang in Johor recorded unhealthy air quality levels of 159, 151, 127, and 103, respectively. Similarly, Alor Gajah and Bukit Rambai in Melaka both recorded API readings of 154. An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 300 and above hazardous.
