Serian: Serian, Samarahan and Kuching recorded hazardous-level Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 12.30 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Department of Environment (DOE)'s Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal reported that the API reading at the Serian District Police Headquarters monitoring station stood at 412. Samarahan followed with an API of 332, and Kuching recorded 304. These levels indicate hazardous air quality, posing significant health risks to the local population.

Sri Aman exhibited a very unhealthy API reading of 228. This situation highlights the widespread nature of the haze affecting multiple regions.

Furthermore, several areas reported unhealthy API readings, including Sarikei at 197, Sibu at 190, and Bintulu at 183. Mukah recorded an API of 176, Samalaju 175, Kapit 161, Miri 159, and the Miri Industrial Training Institute (ILP) 156.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is considered moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and any reading above 300 is deemed hazardous. These figures are updated hourly based on data from 68 monitoring stations nationwide, providing real-time information on air quality conditions.
